has anyone used the Hayden 3700 on their 2.9 as a main fan?

Also, will 1400cfm cut it for cooling?

I have been looking at the Flex-a-Lite FLX-40, but i cant seem to get the same numbers out of anyone....
Some sites claim it draws 15 amps and pulls 2800cfm, some claim 10 amps and 1800cfm...

Basically, my fan clutch went, so i wish to switch to electric, but am having a difficult time separating the truth from the lies over these fans...
im leaning towards the hayden partially because it is about half the price of the Flex...
Suggestions?

Fixing the stock fan clutch will probably be the most simplistic and cheapest.

They typically move more air than an electric. Not only will you have to buy the fan, you will also have to get a temperature switch, fuses, good wiring, wiring connectors, and a relay. To me there's no justification for the cost. The more load on the alternator, the harder it is to turn, really you're not going to free up any noticeable power in the long run.

1,400 CFM might not be enough on a hot summer day. It's hard to gauge exactly what you'll need. I figure better safe than sorry.

Flex-a-Lite FLX-40

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=FLX-40&N=700+305596+115&autoview=sku

Summit says: Maximum Fan CFM: 1,950 cfm @ ~10A.

I am running a 2,900 CFM Zirgo 16", I think I paid $100 for it. I probably wouldn't go back because I like the looks of it though.. :) It keeps it cool, I guess that's the important thing..

i can get the electrical components for free, so im not too concerned about that...
I think ill try the hayden, and if im unhappy with how it performs switch it to a pusher and re mount the OEM...
Thanks for the extra brain power though
