elec 4406

could i use an elec shift 4406 in my truck with the stock shift knob on dash ????
i would like to do this in my 98 ranger with swap but am not going to buy a t/c till i find out if it will work.
some one said that some one had done this but mite need wires changed
any info or direction to info would be helpful

Someone on explorerforum.com did it, might wanna check over there. Why not run the manual case?
