So I bought a 99, manual, 4x4 with the 4.0. So far I've had to replace the 4wd shift motor, passenger side axel and hub assembly, locking hubs, adjusted the torsion bars because they were cranked too far and a couple other little things.

So I'm keeping it stock for a little while. If I have issues with the front axels or suspension I'll end up doing the sas this winter. The plan is to keep it stock until I gather everything I'll need prior to the swap then when the crappy independent suspension gives me flack I'll get torche happy. Until then I'll be gathering the parts.
I've already got:
Manual T-case
LP D44 with 4.88's and a lock right. 5x5.5 lug pattern
Full floating rear D44 with 4.88's and a lock right. 5x5.5 lug pattern
HP D44 with 4.10's and open. 5x5.5 lug pattern
9" with 4:10's and open. 5x5.5 lug pattern
Lincoln Versalies 9" with disc brakes but stock gears and open. 5x4.5 lug patern
Stock radius arms for the hp D44
I haven't decided what to do for the front suspension.
Haven't decided which axels to use.

The hp 44 with the guts from the lp 44 is what I would do. And then the rear 44.

I've been contemplating pulling the tubes out of both doffs then putting the tubes from the LP on the HP to eliminate the cast wedges. I could then buy weld on wedgies or just go with a 3 link kit from ruff stuff. The weld on wedges would definitely be the cheapest way to go.
