In the pic there is a purge-like valve(currently capped) coming from the EGR tube, there doesnt seem to be any obvious/open valves that this would connect to. Any ideas???

That connects to an EGR sensor that should be mounted to the throttle cable bracket and has a 3 wire connection. My wiring is dirty, but the colors appear to be Black/White, Orange, & Black. The sensor is a black plastic box about 2"x2"x1/2" that the wiring and the rubber hose plug in to.

The one on the back of the valve goes to the EGR solenoid on the passenger side fender, back by the battery. The front, with the screw underneath it, one goes to the EGR sensor, mounted on the upper intake.

Also make sure the line is good between the upper intake and the EGR solenoid. If the plastic lines have cracked or are gone, replace them with rubber ones.

only one problem with that (the thing with the screw under it) It shoots extremly hot air out of it,i had used a hi temp hose but it melted it right off. everyone i ask has no clue what its there for.just keeping it capped for now
