EGR solenoid but no connector

I have checked and rechecked but do not have a electrical connector for the EGR solenoid on my 1999 XLT 4x4 supercab. I have removed covering on the wire loom and there are no loose not connected wires. Any ideas about why there is no connector? The loom appears in good shape with no apparent damage. Not sure how to resolve this. All other electrical connectors on the engine loom are accounted for. Stumped at this point. So close and yet so far…
 
Checked the chilton. Brown/pink wire from EGR vacuum control supposed to connect to pin 47 on ECM. Opened the loom all the way to ECM plug there is no brown/pink wire. Have not opened the ECM plug yet. This loom did not ever have a wire to the EGR vac regulator. How did the EGR work without a EGR vac/reg? This is starting to be a bidirectional vortex…it sucks and blows simultaneously… If I am missing something please advise… feels like I am.
 
Opened PCM plug, the position where the brown/pink wire terminates was plugged, as in unused. I unplugged it added a wire and connected the blue/orange wire to a common blue orange. My only question now is….. will the PCM recognize the new wire for the EGR regulator? Still dont understand why there was no EGR regulator plug in this loom. Just another brick in the wall…
 
Do you have a code for the EGR? If you do not, then it's probably not going to work anyway. How did this happen I do not have a clue. I know the earlier trucks, some of them had EGR's and some didn't. Whatever they had to do to pass certification with the gov is what they did when the truck was built.
 
I'm guessing that the wire loom came from a truck that didn't have an EGR valve or if you replaced the engine instead of the wire harness, the original engine didn't have an EGR valve. But this is a guess at best, not knowing enough history.
 
I purchased a wrecked 99 ranger with a 4.0l it had a EGR. Used it as a donor truck for a 2000 ranger without engine/trans. It had a 3.0l Flex fuel originally. Had to swap entire wire harness, dash because the 2000 was completely different. The 2000 Flex truck only used 2 of the three big electrical connections just under the booster, one was blank. Cab wiring was also different. Only one plug in floorboard where the 99 had two. I have a new 4.0 sitting on an engine stand. Sorting out all connections prior to dropping it in because there is not much room to work with it in. I added a wire to the PCM in the correct position, ran another to blue/orange “key on power”. Hoping the PCM will recognize it once I get it running. Neither of these rangers were complete when i bought them. I own a 98 ranger 2wd with a 4.0l. Its handy for stare and compare… I have rebuilt the 99 from bumper to bumper. Hope to drive it soon. I like a challenge and this has truly been one.
