is the egr vacuum solenoid under the intake manifold or?????????? the reason I ask is trying to cure drivability issue. have already replace iac, tps and coolant sensor (both). fairly fresh tune up and headc gaskets and timing chain & gears. drivability issue has been there for about four months. thankfully it is a manual and i can manipulate engine/tranny to allow for some resemblence of drivability.

symptoms: sluggish on take off tries to die during initial idle. fuel economy has dropped from 26 to 22.2-23.4. as far as do i have an EGR did not notice while had heads off, was a throw and go situation. only thing i see at the coil is the "condenser" little round with one wire comin out.

okay, mtnrgr you would be correct truck not equipped with EGR. thought i had it figured out, as to my problem. did a code check nothing concrete, will try my MAF sensor.

Sorry to crash on your thread, but does any one know where I can get new egr tubing that goes from the manifold up to the valve mine broke along time ago and I just crimpt the piece at the valve and my new manifold came with a like block plate

you may need to get one from a junkyard or a dealer. i know my truck came from the factory with out a egr. So if you have no luck with finding a egr tube you can get what you need to delete.

after finally replacing MAF sensor driveability issues went away. no pinging, no stumbling, smooth idle. should have replaced long time ago.

Happy truck at last. Just wondering if you tried any of those MAF cleaner before you replaced.

as a matter of fact....yes. never really noticed improvement which is probably why i waited so long to replace, i mean other than the $$$$$$$$$$$ 99.xx before core return.
