I have a 2000 explorer 5.0 motor I would like to change it to carb will 302 parts fit it it has gt40p heads I would like to put a better cam in it and a distributor in it what all will I need
thanks wayne

thats what im doing except i got a 97' mountaineer block, i got a old 4bb intake off a 84 mustang, bolts up fine, im also go a duraspark dizzy and ignition setup for it. got to make sure u get the right gear on the end, 85 mustang 4bbl manual has the right dizzy is you go to autozone, part number 30-2831, has the steel gear for roller cam. i dont know anything about a cam choice, hopefully someone else will post and correct me if im wrong. you can also get all the wiring cheap at a junkyard if theres one near you. was 10 bucks for mine.

If that motor is going in a 2000 Ranger, it would be so easy to just stay with the EFI and not have to mess with the wiring and such as fuel system. All Ford mechanical parts pretty much interchange on the motor.

I would glady take that 2000 explorer ECU, engine and trans harness and EFI intake off your hands if you do the swap...I am needing that for my project...
