I have a 92 ranger 2 wheel drive that was completely gutted of all the wiring in the cab and engine bay. Is an efi swap even feasable since the is no ranger wiring harness left. The reason i ask is i want to run efi and turbo on a 351w stroket to a 393 or 408. I know i will need bigger injecters heads cam intake and all the goodies to run more cubic inches and the turbo. Is it possible.

A stand alone computer such as megasquirt would probably be the way to go. A visit to their web site will give you an idea of what they have available.

5.0L EFI has good design, max performance and included 5500 rpm.

As stated, go to a local junkyard and get a complete vehicle harness, front to back, including the dash harness, so you know everything will work and be complete. Since your wanting to boost, I recommend going with either an aftermarket efi system as mentioned, or at least go OBD2, they're easier to tune with a programmer...

depends what the goal is, yeah you could make it work if you just needed it to steer only. but for turn signals, brake lights, head lights etc, stuff that makes it street legal, you're going to need another cab harness

Im just wanting to make it go in a straight line down the track. The reason for EFI is i want to run boost. Twin turbos to be exact. Or would a blow through carb be a better option since i have a hacked up wiring harness. There are still some factory wires i just dont have a clue what they are.

Would i get one for a ranger or could i get one for lets say a mustang or explorer. Im building a 351w based stroker. Does that come into play when getting a harness?

If all your doing is drag racing. I would use this engine harness http://www.jegs.com/i/Ford+Racing/397/M-12071-A50/10002/-1 with this main chassis harness http://www.jegs.com/i/Painless+Performance+Products/764/50001/10002/-1
The engine harness will run the engine separate from the chassis. I ran this setup in my old drag car.

If i use this do i just get an ecu and plug the harness in and use the other one to run other electronics. Is there any way you could explain how you did this would be a big help
