Anyone ever bought any of the tint kits off ebay? The pieces are all cut for the truck, you just apply. I bought one

looks like it would be OK. I got some experience on my wifes Fusion when I did the tail lights. I figure tinting over curved corners on the tails is about as hard as it gets so flat glass should be a breeze.

I hope the quality of the material is OK. For $38 I'll be doing my whole truck, I paid Ziebart over $300 for the Fusion and took it back 3 times and it still isn't right. I could do this 9 times for what the Fusion cost.

I'll post pics when I get it in.

I also purchased a pre-cut tint kit from Ebay (Seller XtremeCity) and it was great. Included with tint was very detailed instructions and they even included their website to watch video. It applied easy but I think it would have worked better if I removed the window gaskets to get out all air bubbles. It came on a large sheet which were of course pre-cut and had to be careful not to rip when removing. So far it hasn't faded but has scratches in it but that could be from my applying it to roughly. Make sure to keep the film wet at all times with warm soapy water.

Well how did it go? Did it fade? Were you able to do it without taking the door panels off?

No fade, but it's only been on for about 6 months and my truck is always in the garage.
As for the door panels, I took them off just because it made the job easier.

I know nothing about tinting, but aren't these the kind of tints that always peel and leave bubbles?

Nah, any tint that is applied properly will not bubble or peel. What I'm concerned about it the thickness and how scratchy it will or won't get.

Here it is. Turned out well, this is the first time I have attempted windows. I did the tail lights on the wifes Fusion. The only thing that I wish went better it the edges of the front windows. I got little fibers from the fuzzy window frame on the edges of both windows.

Yeah, just keep everything soaking wet with water mixed with a few drops of dish soap and don't let the tint touch itself. Once you get it in place, use a Bondo plastic spatula thingy to squeegee out all the excess water and blot around the edges with a towel as you squeeze it out.

that pretty damn easy you didnt have to trim any areas up or anything?

hmm did u take ur door panels off or leave them on?

all this is making me wanna give it a try my self.
