im looking to build an early 90s ranger and put a early bronco suspension under it. im wondering if any of you have used the 73-79 ford 9" lift on your rangers and if so what size tires would i be able to use if i get 9" lift ?????????? would like to get 44" under it

Well first of all by suspension do you mean axles too? Because EB's have solid axles and your ranger dosnt. Also an EB dana 44 wont hold up to 44's. not even close. also there isnt really a way to pre determine what size tire you can fit because all of your suspension will be custom fit.

Maybe look through some build threads to find out some more info before commiting

9" lift? You could fit 54" under it with a 9" EB lift. I have 5.5" EB coils under mine and I fit 39.5" under it.

An EB 44 and 9 wont take a 44" tire. They barely hold up to 35s. Not to mention your stance would be way too narrow. 44s require a D60 at minimum to get the strength and the width you will need.

Sounds like you need a better plan. Search a lot more.

a eb44 CAN hold to 44s in a ranger in the mud WITH the moly axles....that being said i have had 44" GUMBOS personally on a ranger for a period of 6 months with being wheeled every weekend. i only had 6" springs and i cleared them, they truly measured like 42 and changed, but with a small block and a automatic in the mud itll hold for a while

JUST HOPE U DONT HAVE TO CLIMB OVER ROCKS OR ANYTHING lol

oh, and as far as it not being stable, mine was stable as a rock, when u have a 12" wide rim with a nice offset and ur tires are 16" wide u have a nice footprint on 44's with no dream of tipping

just for reference these are 40" gumbos with the 6" eb lift on it
