I completed my Dana 44 SAS by building a 3-link suspension with a trackbar. The complete buildup is on cardomain http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3165667.

I started by building a radius arm setup but decided on the 3-link instead for better articulation.

Looks great, but I might be a little weary of the 3/4" Heim on the upper link. I'm running the same size joint on the lower end of my track bar for adjustability and I've noticed quite a bit of wear in it over the last 20,000kms (6 months of driving) and where your using it, it's gonna see a lot more stress. Just my .02....Nice build though!

Small dia. and tight lower wrap would suggest they're 8" ranger ttb coils.

i thought i seen that truck out by glennie in dec...one similar to it anyway. custom arms just like what you have. you ever get down that far from houghton? i was gawkin at it for a few minutes at a store parking lot.

looks like the springs are too stiff as well.

but not as stiff as mine:icon_rofl:

The springs are TTB ranger coils, they are a little stiff but i didnt think 5.5 inch early bronco springs would provide enough lift. I had the truck in Alpena for a while before i took it up to school so that might be where it was seen. I still am working out bugs in the suspension design. The top link has been giving me some trouble where the axle tended to wrap from movement at the crossmember. The trackbar was also relocated to the front side of the coils. This just gave more room for aligning the caster.

ahhhh.

well. better off modding the buckets to get your ride height with the softer longer coil imo, but it probably goes down the road better with your current springs....tough call for a truck that is regularly highway driven.

if it work it works:icon_thumby:

I have 7" EB coils, and they're riding around 18" now that they've settled. They ride great for a DD, and flex pretty good as well. New skyjacker book has them listed as the same coil as the fullsize 6" softride coil, might be worth looking into....

i will look into that for sure, the truck is not a DD anymore just a wheelin truck. I bought an 04 f150 for my dd and a trailer for the long trips.
