eb axle drums

I just picked up an early bronco set of axles, was there another axle besides the d44 that went in the front of the eb's? Just checkin to see if its a d44 or something else.

Im putting these into my 91, do I need to get a new master cylinder since the fronts are dum breaks? Or can I get a proportioning valve somewhere that I can use instead of switching everything? What about the steering setup? Can I use all the stuff that's currently on my 2wd truck? Or do I need the whole setup from an eb?

The early ones came with a D30.

66-70 EB's came with D30, 71-77 EB's had D44 drum brakes, 76-77 EB D44's had disc brakes...Any solid axle 44 knuckles will bolt onto the EB 44, giving you the disc brake you definitely want, hope this helps ya

If you use chevy d44 spindles & caliper mounts there is no need to swap out the knuckle. If you do swap knuckles you will need a new tierod because the EB uses a different pitch than other D44 knuckles. If it were me I'd run chevy spindles with a Ford hub and elliminate 1 of the PITAs of the swap an just run a stock EB tierod.
