I want to swap the Engine, Trans and AWD transfercase from a explorer/mountaineer into a ranger.

I wanna leave it AWD and utilize the stock explorer transmission/tcase

What would the easiest year ranger to do this swap on???

Id say it's a tossup between a 98 Ranger with a late 97 exploder drivetrain (have to run a return line) and a 99-00 ranger w/ a 99-01 exploder drivetrain (PATS).

Easiest will be a torsion bar equipped 4x4.

=1998 or newer.

Combined with the info in rwenzings article concerneing PATS, Fuel return and Speedometer location, you want a 1999 or 2000 4x4 Ranger and a 1999 or newer Explorer 5.0

That's for "easiest". Anything can be done, however.

I'm trying to pull off this swap into my 2000 ranger coil spring suspension and I noticed the motor mounts in the ranger is offset and the 5.0 is even straight across?? Is there something I'm missing?

Difference in frames between the two suspensions. Ranger SVT can set you up with the plates you need.
