I pulled the front driveshaft out of a early 90's explorer with a bw1354e and need the yoke but my 30mm socket was too big to get inside to pull the nut off. Does anybody know what size the nut is on these trucks?

I believe its 1 1/8"

Just tried that and it goes inside the yoke but it doesn't grab the nut, I even tried 1 1/16, and 1 1/4 none worked all 12 point sockets too and non impact so the walls are thinner too.

Then go to a smaller size socket.

30mm is the socket I use, fits right in there and grabs the nut, though any bigger and it wouldn't fit down the hole.

It's a Husky socket (Home Depot brand).

I had an impact 30mm socket but it wouldn't fit in the hole of the front yoke. Guess I'll try a non impact 30mm to pull it off.

Yea mines a regular socket.

It worked just had to use a 12 point socket.. Couldn't break the nut off at the junkyard with what I had, too bad I couldn't use my impact there, would have made short work of that.
