just wanna let it be known that installing these plugs (in my opinion) is a waste of time and money. I first seen them on Horse Power Tv and was skeptical, very skeptical actually. but i read mixed reviews on them but never found anyone to have a real problem with them aside from not getting the promised dramatic increase in fuel economy. So i bought one for the Lawn mower and holy shit it made a difference. lots more torque, its near impossible to bog it down now, (needless to say i dont measure MPG on a push mower) Anyhow the long and short of it is i put 6 in my '03 4.0l and they are the shits. for the 10 min the ran smoothly i noticed NO imporvement from the plugs that had 100,000km on them. then as the truck warmed it got worse and worse until it was evident that one cyl was not firing and i later found that another was barely firing i pulled them all and put in 6 bosch and i couldn't be happier. i put 4 in the girlfriends saturn, better expierence then the ranger in that she got the pep and smoother idle....unfortunatley she was IDILING smoothly at 1500 rpm. pulled them too, back to NGK.

its been my expierence in the lawn mower (and recently snowblower) that in a less complex and hotter running small engine these plugs work great, and i would recommend them, but would never waste money on them for a vehicle again.

i don't know if i bored most of you to sleep or not, but if there is anyone on the fence about it i hope i was some help.
P.S. i did read a few threads here on TRS and MANY ppl said to stick with bosch, cant remember their names but, the are absolutly RIGHT

Yeh well I personally would recommend the motorcraft plugs. Thats what came from the factory and my truck seems to run best with those. Everyone says autolites are the same plug with a different name. They sure look the same!

If you got an improvement installing Bosch, they must REALLY BE BAD!!!!:headbang::headbang:

LOL They were AWFUL.

i don't wanna sound like a complete newbie, but outta curiosity how badly can old wore out plugs and wires effect the economy? as bad as 5mpg?

plugs are only 2 days old too soon to check, maybe by the weekend i will need some fuel

Why would there be any doubt

that the guys that made that lawn mower engine didn't put the correct BEST plug in it? Seems they would be making millions of engines and putting the BEST plug they could find in them.. Why would one even think about installing a different plug?
Big JIm :wub::hottubfun:
