just wondering, hve been looking at "the shiftster" as a possibility to get rid of a failing e shift case motor, but has anyone rigged one of them to a stock in-cab manual shift linkage? i think it would be pretty badass if that was possible.

you wouldn't be able to rig it to a stock shifter, but you could do it with a cable or something in the cab to push and pull into the right position, I've been thinking of doing that by modifying the shift motor housing

IIRC the Shiftster and the stock system has to go more than 180*. You would have to come up with a double cable or other way to get past that hurdle.

It turns about 270°. (for future reference -- hold down alt and type 0176 on the keypad to type a degree symbol. :icon_thumby:)

anybody wanna take a crack at how that ^^ setup goes the 270? looks like it would be limited to 180 or am i missing something?

It should probably be this:

That setup should be like the one I designed for my truck a few years ago. It would be gear driven to reduce the throw. I dont know how much it is reduced to, but mine is a 3:1 reduction. Resulting in a 90° throw.

yeah thats the link, so you'd have to make or buy a little gear box guy to rig up on there?

Just cut a hole in the floor and reach through it and use the shiftster. :p

I love the idea of the shiftster and the price, but getting out to reach under the truck on and off is a real pain...then again so is the e tcase.

I like the other idea posted in that link, just not the 300 dollar price tag.although I don't thonk I could find everything needed for a manual t case swap for 300.

I bought a Ranger with a 13-54m for $300!! Then sold everything else for a tidy profit.

I went to pull-a-part and bought 3 electric shift motors for $30. Put one on to replace the bad one I had and always keep one with me on the trail. Still have one for a backup.

I can crawl under there and swap one out in less than 10 mins.
