E-Brake issues

Ok so i got a 94 ranger with an 8.8 and i just redid all the rear brakes you know drums and pads and i had to get new E-brake cables from the mount on the leaf spring to each brake. I didn't have to replace the one from the cab back because it was in good shape and when i tried to hook the ebrakes up i have to do alot of tugging and pulling to get them hooked up. Also once they are hooked up they are dragging. I adjusted the pads in the drums with the adjuster on the bottom of the pads so that i would stop good with the drums and then tried to get the ebrakes hooked up. So i am wondering is there anyway to readjust the autotension thing to get more cable or what. Any help is appreciated.
 
You know the cable has an adjustment.Where the front cable and back cable go together there's threaded rod at the end of the front. Put slack in the line by backing off the threads.
 
They actually don't have adjusters on this year.

I don't know why, but my '94 with the 8.8 is having the same issue.


Today I took out both of the brake bars from in between the shoes to see if that will help my problem until I'm able to get new e-brake cables.
