Duratecv6 Swap Questions

I have a '94 Ford ranger (3.0 5speed 2wd), i'm tryin to think of ideas on how to make it different and i saw a taurus with a duratec v6 in my uncle's shop and i'd like to know what all i have to do to make it work.
And will i be able to use my five speed transmission with the duratec v6, or what i need to use for it.

Since the taurus engine is mounted sideways in the engine bay and uses a transaxle you'll be making custom engine mounts, custom exhaust, custom intake probably, possibly need to customize the oil pan, you'll need to splice in the harness for that engine, I think it has a different fuel system so you'll have to customize that, you MAY be able to get somebody to make you an adapter to mount a rwd trans to the duratec but it won't be cheap (I don't know right off of any applications using that engine in a RWD application)

That's just a few things off the top of my head, I'm sure there's more. Where there's a will, there's a way. But IMO if you want more power go 4.0L, 5.0L, or turbo 2.3L. Unless you have MAD fab skills those would be a better way to go and even those require plenty of skill/knowledge to do right. If you go dura 3.0 you better make a build thread!

Lincoln LS. Possibly look into what transmission(s) were offered in Taurus's and it may be possilbe that a 3.0 vulcan and a 3.0 Duratec have the same bell housing pattern. Otherwise, the Lincoln LS came with a base 3.0 v6 in RWD and was optional with a 6 speed. I believe they put out around 220HP.
