I am not actually new here, I had joined The Ranger Station along time ago but through moves lost the login info so like some others that are wondering and looking for a yes or no to this quetion, Will The 3.0 DURATEC bolt upto the Ranger 3.0 VULCAN transmission???

No it won't, for sure, 100%

People get confused over "model numbers", model is just a designation, like "ranger" is a Ford model
Like saying "I have a Ranger, is it 2WD or 4x4?"
"I have the model number, Ranger, how come no one can tell me?"

A lot of Rangers used the same MODEL transmission, but they have engine specific bell housings so can not bolt to a different size engine

The M5OD-R1 model transmission was used on 6 different Ranger engines, 1988-2011, same model number

I remember when it was very important to know when your Ford was made. 1980 and 1/2 could make a huge difference in getting the right part or not.

the problem i have with these newer engines is the rpm at where the hp rating is, for example the 3.0 in the escape is rated at 240 hp- @6000 rpm. just when in he!! are you going to have that engine at 6 grand? in overdrive, 55 mph with a 3.50 ratio differential your turning 1600 rpm, in direct ( I dont know what gear for sure, its a 6 speed auto, may have 2 overdrives) you are turning around 2,300 rpm. youd have to leave in in 1st gear to get the rpms up that high. Id like to know what the hp would be at a real-world rpm, like 2500-3000.

Better indicator would be torque comparisons. But hp sells.

Two different ways of presenting exactly the same thing. You can take a plot of torque vs hp and turn it into a plot of hp, or the other way around, with no additional information at all. The only difference is that power is what does work, so it is easier to see what the engine can do in terms of hp.
