Dura spark II ?

Anyone know much about these? Have a sneaking suspition thats what's wrong with my pile. Was told it causes a few differant problems which are showin' up on my truck...

Timing won't get better. It back fires, when there's a load on the engine, like it's in Drive. If it's in park or neutral it doesn't pop at all. It kills out on the road when driving and you have to start it in Neutral (which is probably the N/S switch) I don't think theres anything else... It does Idle roughly like it will idle up and down. It needs work. One of the shops I delivered to today told me thats more than likely whats wrong with it so hopefully I can get a new one or that at least is the problem.... Much easier fix than ripping the front of the engine apart....

It worked! lol. Now it can be properly timed and the carb adjusted. It didn't pop, crack, or nothin. Burned alot of extra fuel but that will be fixed. It didn't act like it was going to die or anything, I'm EXCITED!!!!
