Dura-spark carb problems....

it has 41f jets.
if you want to use the stator wire from
the alternator, you have to use the older thermostat
that worked with that voltage.
i like auto chokes- the last thing i would do is put
on a manual one.

Your gonna want to put the #50 jets in or you will burn valves and possibly pistons and high rpms from a too lean condition. I`m not sure what to say about the choke pulloff maybe bend a tab or linkage to get the proper opening.

smaller venturis need smaller jets to preserve
the air to fuel ratio. 50 is way too big for a 1.01.

i meant the pull off isn't getting vacuum- the
unloader works.

I am running 46s in my 1.08 with good results maybe I will put the 50s in for a bit and see what the difference is it is just it is running so good I don`t want to mess with it. Hopefully I will have my jeep running today for a back up just in case. It would be nice to have the A/C it is supposed to get hot here for a few.

Hey bsutten did you find the part number of your carb, all those carbs i was looking into at advance are out of stock and they said they were not going to get anymore in.

BTW is Twister from b2.org

After a very very closer look, my dads carb is a 1.08 venturi!!!!!

The ones that were being shown to us at the JY that were already pulled were 1.21, glad I told my dad no and to continue looking.

As for me, now I need to find one or make a metering block.

Hopefully tomorrow, I will be cleaning his carb while hes out doing stuff. He got the carb rebuild kit for 10% off because they didnt have it in stock at the Autozone he went to.

update- the old 1.01 f2 carb is working better-
the float level setting in the rebuild kit was wrong.
i had marked the original setting and returrned to
that and it runs better. i was only getting 21 mpg,
so i hope it's better now. what i posted about the
spacer being the same was wrong- i was comparing
it to another aftermarket one. the original has the
indent that kimcrwbr1 mentioned.
and i don't have to drill it for the pull off, what i
thought was a closed chamber connects to vacuum.

21 mpg with the 1.01 venturi and your complaining???????

yeah- looking for 25.

I`d be happy with 20 just be careful about running it too lean especially on the top end WOT. keep a eye on your plugs that they are not burning too hot you can burn valves and pistons the only thing that cools them is the fuel.

Maybe a silly question but what it "WOT" :icon_confused:

WOT... Wide Open Throttle.. It means when you are balls to the wall! What he meant is that with that small of a jet there may not be enough flow thru it to run well at high rpm.. You might get more air than fuel and the mixture might be lean enough to cause real serious problems.

A guy I used to know had a motorcraft 2 barrel on a dodge 360 3/4 cam headers he tried putting a preheater tube like the old choke preheater heater thru the float bowl to heat the fuel so it vaporized better. It worked so good it burnt holes in 5 of his pistons before he could shut it down and all of the exhaust valves had cracks. That was a hot truck 1964 ford pickup with dodge 360 push button automatic motorcraft 2 barrel. It didnt smooth out till about 75 mph and virtually just hit the high spots on the road he pulled a 16 ft air stream like it was nothing.

Hey guys , can you put an electric choke from a 2150 on a 2100?

Also is it bad to constantly keep you choke fully open?

I put one on a 2100 once. I found the lectric spring turned backwards and choked more as it heated up. What I did was to get a HOLLEY lectric spring and cap. I think Holley makes both left and right springs so you need to know what it is you are purchaseing.
