are the lift kits on ttb rangers 83-97 interchangable between 2wd and 4x4? All lift kits do not specify whether they are for 2 or 4x4 applications, pretty dumb question but i dont want to make assumptions and be wrong!

I believe they have the same hold downs and such. so the coils are good but the radius arm drop brakets, not sure if they are the same. Atleast on skyjackers there are diffrent part numbers. I think the only real diffrence might be the pitman arm included with it. Don't quote me on it but that is the only diffrence i can find.

I'm 99% sure it wouldn't work. Besides which, dropped spindles are probably cheaper anyway.

They are not the same, especially if you have a D35 on your truck. For starters, an 83-88? I believe run the D28 which has a "skinnier" mounting point on the axle beam that the D35 wouldn't mount into, so that rules that out. Also, I do believe the same applies for 2WD brackets...

Actually the D28 & D35 are the same as far as mounting goes... It's the bracket for the passengerside beam that's different between 2WD and 4WD. IIRC, the 2WD beams are also narrower where the radius arm mounts than 4WD beams, so the arms wouldn't fit.
