here's a stuiped question, when I let off the gas pedal and the computer shuts off the enjecters, my engine sucks oil from the crankcase into the intake, and then when i put my foot back on the gas it blows a huge long cloud of oil smoke out, does that mean my PCV is bad?? and can I for the time being just block off the intake hose till I get the chance to get a new PCV??

Robert

p.s. the engine isnt blowing oil when I take the oil cap off with it running, also it's a 88 2.3, 5 speed, with somewhere close to 200k miles.

don't block the hose. it could be the PCV but its more likely to be leaking intake valve seals

just pull the PCV out of the crankcase and leave it hanging then take a drive and check if it changes. if it doesn't then its probably intake valve seals or piston rings
