I just Dont Get It.

I Also found out that I have Dealer Installed AC. Check out my hose connections. The condenser hose's use the same type clamp. Is that going to hold up to the pressure of R-134a.

I was pissed when I found out I had Dealer installed AC. I'm trying to rebuild my AC system. Couldnt I just use the compressor bracket from a junkyard and install the factory compressor / condensor / hoses instead of this style and it's mickey mouse setup. Also since it is dealer installed I guess that means I have a expansion valve too. where might that be located on a 89 Ranger.

Thanks..............................

Thanks

It looks like you have a stock evap box.

I wouldn't trust hose clamps on an A/C. You can easily get 250 PSI in there, and the pressure relief valve is supposed to be set at 450 PSI even for R-12.

I'd suggest replacing the compressor and lines. The evap looks stock; I can't tell about the rest.
