dual fuel tanks?

And here, I thought it would be just a couple of Jerry cans plumbed to gravity feed into the factory tank...

Why re invent the wheel, if there's a factory option to basically just bolt in? I waste enough time already, sometimes spending an hour+ to fab a $10 shelf part... Work smarter, not harder.

The Ranger factory rear tank was under 10gal if memory serves, and yes I think it was last offered in 1988 model year

Allen did have a post that he mentioned using a rear tank from older narrow frame F350/450 dually, it fits between Ranger frame rails and didn't hang down as much as the BII tank, also had filler hose in better location

But in any case with a rear tank you do lose the spare tire mounting under the bed, so.....................if you want to carry a spare then it takes up room in the bed, or build a swing out spare tire mount on bumper

From what I remember reading, finding a tank that isn’t rusted out was the problem. Even LMC truck doesn’t offer any of the needed parts or the tank. So you would have to make something fit.

Here ya go....easy-peasy!!!
Put this puppie in your bed and drive for a looooooooong time.

Yes, and get a trailer if you need to haul anything......................problem solved, good one Grumpaw

If you go with the fullsize rear tank for a narrow framed truck youll need a pre 77 1/2 4wd 250 or a 350 thru 79.

Good luck.

Is that a 2.9l coolant tank?

To be serious I would love dual tanks. I HATE the range on my truck. I get 350 miles max if I drive conservative highway miles. Generally 200 miles on my day to day driving though since it's all short trips of idling

My old s10 got 500 miles per tank. Not because it got better mileage, it just had a massive tank.

240 on the nose, but I have one of the old metal tanks ?

I average around 300+ depending. I've gotten better and worse depending on the blend of fuel available, speed, terrain, wind direction, phase of the moon, blah, blah, blah. More range would be nice.
