whats up guys, im gettin a new dual exhaust system on saturday, i was wonderin how ya'll thought about this set up. Its gonna b a cat back exhaust with a 2.5 inch head pipe running into a (single input / double outlet) Flowmaster super 44 series muffler, then with 2.5 inch pipes coming out of the outlets of the muffler, then finally at the end, im puttin' 3 inch tips on. Do ya'll think i should use smaller pipes that come out of the mufflers outputs? I wanna see sum of ya'lls input on this. Does anybody know a better way to set up a dual exhaust system besides the way i listed here? Just wanna know wat ya'll think. Any information would be much appriceated. Thanks guys.

if your doing a 1 into 2 muffler i would do 2 1/2 in 2 1/4 out pipes. will help out with performance. 2 1/2 is a little big on a stock motor. and personally, id go with an original 40 series muffler, or a delta flow muffler, they just sound better in my opinion but its your exhaust, do it however you like.

I agree on the pipe size. The 'super' mufflers are delta flow. Just a heads up, I put a super 40 on my 4.0 and it is pretty quiet. If I did it again I would go with an original 40. You can do your exhaust however you want. Straight out the back, out the back on an angle, or like I want to get done, lightning style dual pipes exiting in front of the tire. It's your truck get it done however you want.

So, ya'll think I should get a Flowmaster Original 40 series muffler with a 2.5 inch inlet, and double 2 1/4 inch outlets. aite, I'll look into that. Um, 'nother question, whats the difference between tips, like I always see different types of tips, some tips are just straight out the back and chrome, some are angled out the back, cat back exhaust style, I also see angled down tips, Do these tips make any difference in sound or performance? Im tryin to get a good sounding exhaust system, I already know that im not gonna get that V8 sound, but I do want that deep growl, with a little resonation.

not really a sound difference in tips unless there glasspack tips. i like the chrome angle cut ones personally. whatever suits your needs
