Had my 2002 ranger into the Ford dealer for the cam positioner and shaft replacement. I asked them to check the airbag light I was getting they said it would cost $322 to fix and they would have to order the part. I said I'd let them know. Came home searched the internet and found a Ford TSB that said clean the connections and tape up the wires. I disconnected the battery did the cleaning and taping. Reconnected the battery and NO MORE LIGHT!!

Thank you Al Gore for your invention.

I had the same problem when the light bulb blowed in the passenger airbag switch, which caused a code 17 or something like that. Ford wanted $65 for the whole assembly. I fixed it with a $2 bulb from Radio Shack and a little soldering.
