well my brother in laws girl friend has let her jeep sit for about a year because one day she was driving it and it started making a noise and shut off. they never had a mechanic look at it just parked it and her son said it needed a motor.

paid $400 for it .

it an 01 grand 185k full loaded i think it has every option. 4.7L v8.

i think it needs a timing set havent had a chance to do anything other than drag it home.

plan is to get it running and cleaned up and have a family vehicle since we just found out we are having a baby.

I know it takes an FL300, 6 quarts or 5w-30, and come wrapped in a package that is not worth my time.

lol i need to get some time off work to get it in the garage and get it looked at so i know whats wrong with it so i can decide what im going to do with it

Oh yeah, they suck down the gas. I've heard you can actually get better MPG by punching a hole in the gas tank.

Might want to check the timing chain,it may have broke,thrown,or skipped some teeth....That'll make them 'just stop',the way you described it.
