hello all,

ive decided its time to replace my leaking fuel filler hose. tired of the mess and not being able to open the back window cuz the gas vapors go straight into my face.

problem is, i had a line-x bedliner sprayed in my truck and they sprayed over the bed bolts. so my options are, cut the line-x away from the bolts to remove the bed, or drop the tank from underneath to do the replacement.

i do not want to cut the bedliner, so that leaves dropping the tank. i have a 96 2wd 2.3L 4cyl, 5spd manual. anyone have a resource on what needs to be done besides removing the tank support straps?

also, is there a good manual for repairs to this vehicle? ive only seen a chilton manual and some other no-name books, and i dont trust the quality of those books without some endorsements from people who have used them.

thanks!

If I recall correctly, on my '94 SuperCab there's a shield panel that has to come out, and the driveshaft center carrier has to be loosened, and then you have to have the rear end jacked up pretty good to drop the tank. To me, anyway, it's much easier to pull the bed back, especially if you're just replacing the filler hose.
