i have a 94 jeep wrangler....went and played today, having a major problem now....my tranny has no gears its standard i can feel the shifter finding them but when i release the clutch nothings moving....its like my transfer case is in neutral....i tried bout everything, just lokking to see if thers somethin else to look for tks....

What motor does it have? If it is a 6 cyl it has an AX15 transmission or if it is a 4 cyl it has an AX5. The transfer case is a NP231 which are prone to bad chains. It is possible that either the chain or a fork broke in your trasnsfer case. Worst case senerio is a broken input shaft on the transmission. Your going to have to get under it and see what you did. Are you sure that it was out of 4 wheel dive all the way?

ya sure was outa 4wd....i had looked at all drive lines everythings intact.....so i'm in the process of yanking transfer case out 1st and tranny if need be.....just need to wait for few days off 1st....but will post my progress.....tks for the reply....

Are ya sure the clutch didn't go out?

I would have tried putting it in 4wd to see if it moved.

Sounds like its too late now.

You know I never did think about telling him do that.

no its not the clutch....the whole drive system is in neutral i can't even hear the gears grind when putting it in gear clutch out or clutch in and i was in 4wd when it stopped workin i was in a mud hole than it just stopped dead....i can move the transfer case anywhere i want and nothin happens...i'm just gonna drop it and have a peak internally.....

no no torque ther isn't anything going on wether clutch in clutch out and puttin it in gear thers no grinding... i can move the 4wd shifter in any position and try a gear and nothin....its weird i know.....

yup found the prob....was the clutch it completly fell apart and jammed the fly wheel....never had a clutch do that but will be easy to fix rather than a tranny or t-case so be out ther playing again soon....tks for all ur replies and help....
