Ihave a clunk in my drivetrain. It only happens when I am going more than about 25 MPH. When I shift or push the clutch in and then relerase the cltch. It feels like a sticking throttle or bad ujoint. It is not the throttle and I have checked the ujoints. I did find that a the damper thing that is attached to the driveshaft is loose it is comming apart from the rubber. I did a search some posts said to remove it. I am looking for some feedback if that could be my issue. Thanks

Update. It does not really doing while shifting. It does it when I left off the gas and I am coasting over 25 mph. When I touch the gas it clunks. If I have keep the engine under load. It is not there. I do have a little play in the driveshaft when it is in neutral. I think that is normal. I am suspecting this metal/rubber damper. I would still like some feedback. Thx

The thunk is caused by a loose drive line slip joint. Ford has a TSB out that says to grease the slip joint. It will come back. Some people have put a grease zerk in the drive line to make future greasing easier.
Take the drive line off, take it apart, clean it, grease it, put it back on. Make sure you index it correctly when you disassemble it, and put it back together correctly.

I have a regular cab. I think I have a one piece driveshaft. Do I still have a slip joint?
