I'm building a 94 ford ranger ext cab bagged and bodied on 22's. It has a t5 mustang transmission and an 85 toyota rear end. I'd like to put a 2 piece driveshaft back in it but if I have 1 built I'm looking at $600. But I was wondering if their was a cheaper way. I was thinking I could just shorten something else. Any ideas would be appreciated.
 
I went to the jy and got a aluminum driveshaft from a e series van . Like 4" so it's strong and yet light . I got that complete for like $60 . Then took it to the driveshaft shop here in town and had it shortened . Cheaper to shorten then extend . I paid $160 balances out the door . I'm static of course but do slide it at the drift events . I had to tunnel my cab cause I was rubbering the driveshaft . I'm also installing a t5 into it now and yanking out the 4r70w . I think there's pic in my build thread for the 5.0 swap
