Well still no luck finding a driveshaft for this puppy. Had one of thoes CV types that took a gainer and broke. Checked several scrap yards, and other places, no buggering drive shafts. Even bought a brand new one at a store. Fun thing, the brand new one was too long. About 2-4 inches too long. That was a 32 incher saposidly. So, my question is this, anyone got a short driveshaft to spare? Or know where I can order one? I do not mind buying new, but, I would prefure a physical location rather than mail/internet. A lot easyer to take it back if its a physical store that I stoped in to grab the bugger at.

Has to be the double flange type.

Any driveline shop can build one. Will probably cost $3-400 though.

Craigslist

The Explorer front driveline mod might work

1. Where are you
2. Measure yours

I wish I could, had to hand it in as a core exchange, and thay allready sent it back. So kinda screwed there.

Measure between your flanges between the axle and t-case, then give that to a local driveline shop to have them put a shaft together for you (or even better, drive it in FWD to the shop so they can look at it directly).

Having an Explorer front shaft shortened for your rear is also a very good option (would get you a double-cardan shaft for far cheaper than one built from all new components)

Finding such a shop in this area is probably going to be quite a shot in the dark. Ahh well. Thats looking like the only option I have currently. Less somone put the wrong year on the tital

What transmission do you have in it?

Identify it here (stick) or here (auto)
