driveshaft q's

i just got my 89 bronco2 a couple weeks ago. its got a 302/aod/adapter to stock t-case. right now it has the factory cv style rear shaft so i snagged the ujoint style rear shaft from a b2 in a junkyard. what i didnt realize was the output flange on the t-case was different.

questions:
will the rear output flanges directly swap over? will the new u-joint style shaft be sufficient for about 3-4" of lift?

while i was crawling around underneath of my b2 i noticed the front output is much like the rear of a jeep (the slipyoke built into the case, not the shaft). i really dont like this style and was wondering if there are any easy swaps? it is very loose and i can see about 2" of spline coming out of the case. i'm wondering if the adapter and engine swap have moved the t-case back a little or if this is normal.

i believe that the rear tcase flange are a direct swap- unbolt the nut and slip off the yolk and bolt down new one.-i've had to do that a few times from swapping tcases all the time. To get rid of that slip yolk front output on the tcase, you must swap the case over to a bw1354 from a explorer or ranger and use the driveshaft for that vehicle. most likely the engine swap pushed the drive live back some and i sounds like your front shaft isn't got alot a engagement in the splines and it would probably need lengthened.

well i am doing my suspension lift soon, i have all the drop brackets, just waiting on the cherokee springs to arrive. i'll make another run to the JY to get the flange and dana 35, should help with the front shaft length
