im in the middle of putting a 99explorer 8.8 w/dic brakes in my 88 b2
i would like to keep my drive shaft since i just had it custom made about 2 years ago to replace the cv one i had in there is there an adapter flange i can buy so i can bolt it to the 8.8

Is it a 1310 u-joint shaft? If so, all you need to replace is the rear flange on the driveshaft itself with one from a Ranger or early Explorer, then it'll bolt up no problem.

i do have the 1310 u joint do you know a place were i can buy the flange
website or parts store not having any luck locating one

Driveline shop.

PM me, I am pretty sure I have at least four or five laying around.

Never mind, I do have 1310 flanges but they are the small (earlier) bolt pattern for the 7.5. I also have 1210 flanges for the small pattern too... but nothing for the larger ones. Dangit. Now I remember why I had to buy one

You can always clamp your flange onto the pinion and drill holes... the inner circle part that is machined out is the same size, then just use bolts with nuts on the other side of the pinion flange, or tap threads into it. That's what I did back in the day.

This is what worked great for me:

i think napa can get them too. not the easiest thing to find, so get a napa guy that knows what he is doing... def not gonna be in the computer..
