My credo
What's the worst that could happen?
Power lock on driver's side started to not unlock fully then quit working completely. I have the panel off and played around inside a bit. From other posts it can be the actuator mechanism of linkages.
Does anyone have a test procedure or wiring diagram that will help me with diagnosis beyond just R&R?

Thanks
R

Most commonly, it is the actuator that goes bad. You can test if you have power going to the actuator, and if you do and it doesn't move, then replace the actuator.

One more question if I may...
Which one is the actuator?

This one:

Or this one:

For the price, I'll replace both since I'm already scraping the snot outta my hands digging around inside that tiny space :p

The first is the locking mechanism, the second is the actuator.

Thank you gentlemen, much appreciated.

The actuator came today from Rock Auto. A few minor differences in the structure.
It did come with what I think is a pop rivet to fasten the actuator to the door panel(?)
At least that's what it looks like. The original uses a bolt which is what I am going to use on the new one.
Thanks for your help. Hopefully tomorrow, weather permitting...
