Ok fellas, didnt know where else to put this...figured since driveline turned the rear axle I would put it here. So down to the last four bolts on the swap and noticed my 2001 driveline going into my 1997 doesnt match at transfer case? Read the write up and some where saying get an adapter. Can I just take the flange off my 2 piece driveline and swap it onto the 1 piece allowing it to mate up to the transfer case nicely or is there something else?? This is a photo of '01 1 piece being swapped in as you can see it is "male" and not "female" like the '97 2 piece. I will get a few more photos. Thanks.

I was thinking of taking the nut off rear output shaft on transfer case, remove flange and replace with 01 flange...sound right? How hard is it to remove nut without air tools? Thanks

Ok figured it out from old post...Spicer 1310-1330 conversion joint, part number Spicer 5-134X.

You can swap the t-case flange no problem.
If the t-case is on the truck, put the transmission in gear (or Park) and you should be able to take the nut off with normal hand tools.

So get this, got to measuring again for the third time and both flanges on the drivelines were equal so doing a conversion wasnt going to help...took to driveline shop...same thing everything was equal couldnt figure out the "male" ring on the end of new one piece driveline? Then fellow there at shop popped it off with hammer and screw driver...WTF? I guess the machine they used to balance the driveline has adapters and it was stuck on the end that was giving me trouble...both learned a lesson. One piece in, grinder to clearance problems, no vibration and no clunking after I shift. Sweet!

Say what now? You're saying the shop that balanced the shaft left an adapter of some kind on the shaft and that was the problem the whole time?

Yep, in the picture you can see the ring in the picture on the end of the flange...that was the problem.
