hey i have a 94 reg cab short bed with 2.3 and 5-speed and i jst bought it on the way home i noticed a lil bit of a driveline vib. i dont know if it is bent or if the joints are bad or jst out of balance any of that isnt a big deal i was curious of anyone knowing if when u lower the shit out of the truck does it make the shaft too long and require it to be shortened. i dont have any pics yet but an idea of hw low it is is the axle is about an inch off the bump stop thanks for any advice.

AN INCH!!!!!! :icon_surprised:

possibly all of the above(except the shaft being too long).....plus the differential needs shimming to get it pointed at the transmission agaain.....probably!!

an inch off the bump stops won't determine how low it is. is the rear axle flipped on top of the springs? block? flipped rear hangers? those will determine how much drop has been done.

As for the drive shaft they are a slip joint type shaft so it won't be too long, on my 98 I did on bags so it would lay the frame the shaft did not completely close the slip joint when it was dropped all the way down still had like an inch of slip left in it, but you can see if the weights are still on the shaft or fell off that would cause you a vibration. Need to figure out is it coming from the front or rear of the truck before it can be figured out better as to what is causing.

yeah, what freaky said.. if you feel it in your seat it is most possibly comming from the rear end of the truck somewhere.. if you feel the vivration in your steering wheel, probably up front somewhere.. im no expert, but have always used this for a reference..

A low speed vibration usually means a pinion angle issue and high speed vibration usually means the wheels need balanced.

yea guys appreciate it im new on the lowered trucks i was into lifted ones. yea i noticed today the lip of one wheel is bent a lil bit so im thinking someone that had it before me got a curb pretty good or something but i appreciate all the help. i dont think its driveling even under hard acceleration(thinking the axle would wrap) i dont have vibration its up in high speeds. guess i will be upgrading to some cobra's gonna try to post some pics tomorrow
