Here's the situation I have a 2000 ford explorer with a 5.0 and AWD and I have a 2000 ford Ranger with 4x4 and I'm going to swap the 5.0 and 4r70w into the ranger. Now I would like to keep the BW1354 transfer case and I know I will need the adapter plate from advance adapter and the question I have is will I need to get custom driveshafts to get everything to work or will the original driveshafts from the ranger work?

Why do you want to keep the 1354?

Mainly because it works and also if I get the adapter and if it saves me from cutting the driveshafts that would be ideal, I know the BW1356 bolts up to the 4r70w but I would have to get custom drives shafts and I don't want to get custom driveshafts if I don't have to

I honestly don't remember about the length of the 4R70 vs the 4R44. But the adapter is $600. You could have driveshafts adapted to fit for less than that and walk away with a much stronger transfer case.
