I was wondering what drive shaft fits in an 85 ranger 2wd with the 302 and t5. I ask because I bought mine already with the engine and everything in it, and the person I bought it from was not the one who did the transfer. Does it use the mustang drive shaft? That would be cool, because I saw a fairly cheap one on summit that was aluminum. Or is it a custom thing?

It's too variable because the engine placement is. You need a drive shaft that fits how the engine has been mounted. Seems shortening is much cheaper than lengthening.

I ditched the 2 piece for a new one piece($200), but the lengths on the new one and old one were pretty close to each other. You just have to measure, measure, measure.
