I am doing a 5.0 t5 swap on my 91 ranger ext. Cab. Currently a 3.0 v6 5spd.

Will the stock two piece drive shaft hold up to the added power? Or do I need to get one out of an f150 and have it shortened?

The driveshaft will hold up with no issues. Your rear axle however, wont last if you're a spirited driver...

I have already considered the rear axle and looking for a ranger 8.8. I'm just really undecided on gear ratio. Want to keep decent fuel mileage because it will be a daily driver.

If you got with 308, great fuel mileage, mid 20's, if you red light race, 355 should still give you low 20's...
