Drinking and driving is bad... Flipped my truck tonight...

NO SYMPATHY HERE!!! When I ran wrecker years ago I would go out of my way to do even more damage to a car involved in a DUI.
Too bad I was not involved in your case, I strongly suspect there is a cover up there.

Well, good to hear you're OK...hope you learned something...

I remember the days when there was no DUI...you could get shitfaced and drive and as long as you weren't in an accident nobody to stop you...as VaGent said, there are far too many cars on the road today and you were fortunate not to hit anyone...that would have been a life of regret...I've seen people who accidentally killed or maimed another with a vehicle...they are NOT the same person afterwards...

I used to drink and drive but also learned this was dangerous...almost killed myself and a bunch of friends racing...

I'm surprised nobody tried to stop you...and if they did then you might want to take it upon yourself to help police your friends...show them pictures of your truck at the next party...tell them how lucky you are to be alive...

Just a suggestion of how your experience can maybe help save someone else the embarrassment that I'm sure you're feeling right about now...and maybe even save a life!

Wish you'd spent some time in jail. And got hurt a bit too. Nothing major, but just enough to get you into a hospital.

Maybe it would've kicked your brain into gear.

I've got two words for you...

DUMB A$$!!!

and can we have an "AMEN". ANYBODY who brags about how drunk they were and then having the balls to ACTUALLY DRIVE HOME deserves to #1lose their licence,#2lose their truck, and #3kiss the ground and thank god they didn't kill someone:idiot::idiot::idiot:

This is just the worst feeling ever, knowing that I coulda killed someone or myself, I dont even know what to say, I feel so bad right now and I'm still just shaking from it....

Like someone said, I never thought it would happen to me, I was even saying that night when I was leaving "Ohhh its only 5 min ride home, Ill be fine."....Ughhhhh....

But as far as losing my licence, Im not getting another truck for awhile.

Well, at least I HOPE you learned your lesson.

Whenever i go to a party or anything, everyone gives me their car keys and I lock them in a box, that is then locked in my glove box (in my old truck I had a separate key for the glove box), and then the truck is locked, but not before rolling the truck over, onto the key). There is no one I can think of who can get a key out from under a tire and get into a truck, and then into a glove box, and then into a combinationed lock box, and then find their car key, when drunk. I'm generally the DD as a few years ago I had one of most unproud moments of my life, so I don't drink heavily anymore, and if I know I'm going to be driving, I don't drink anything harder then pepsi. When we have a party, everyone stays overnight, including me, who is the most sober at the parties (I limit myself to only 2 or 3 drinks, spaced out over the night) at whoevers house we were at, and if someone wants to leave early then they take a cab or call for a ride, I will not give them their car keys even if they "only had one or two", or if they are sober. On every main road in Calgary someone has been killed by a drunk driver, and when you drive around, you can see wreaths and flowers on random street corners, or hillsides, or where ever, I'm not letting a friend of mine be behind, or the cause of one of those memorials.

I'm glad to hear your ok, and I'm sorry about the truck, but how fucking stupid are you?

Well, I'm glad you posted this. Even though you're taking a verbal whipping it's at least an example to anyone reading this thread.

Now that you know, watch out for your friends who don't.

Well you sir are an idiot for drinking and driving like that. How stupid can you be to do that. Im glad your ok and you didnt kill anyone else but thats just plane f'in stupid. Im glad you live in FL and are away from me after reading this.

most peaple are killed 1 mile from there home, or destination point. it sucks you lost your rig, but what can we say ,you had 4 to mant beers, you were kinda askin for it. atleast no one was hurt.

You little bastard.
You're alive and uninjured, you didn't MURDER someone by driving drunk, and you got away with it. Who are you to risk another persons' life with your stupidity? Who are you to decide the life and death of another person or group? Big deal, you lost your truck, SO WHAT? You should be in jail for at least a year, with no license for at least 2 years.

I'm glad you lost your truck. You DID risked the LIFE of an innocent bystander, even though no one was hurt, not even you. You could have committed involuntary manslaughter. YOU COULD BE DEAD!
Think about that at the next party you go to, the next time you drink. If it doesn't stop here and now, when? The next time, after you kill 3 members of a family of 5 coming home from an outing? The next time, when you wind up in a wheelchair for the rest of your life? The next time, when your mother kisses your forehead before they close the casket? When does it stop? When?

I've seen it. I have buried good friends because SOMEONE ELSE decided to drive drunk. I had a good friend who never drank alcohol, but because someone else drove drunk, he and his fiance died coming home from a movie. His mother had to bury her 18 year old son, and another family lost their daughter 2 months before they were to be married.

MAY YOU ROT IN HELL IF YOU EVER DRIVE DRUNK AGAIN.

(I know I am going to get blasted for the above missive. I don't care. If this bastard never drives drunk again, it is worth it. To those who ask who am I to judge?, I am not making a judgement. Only the courts or a higher being can, and I hope that neither has to with this person. I am not perfect, but would not want the responsibility of another humans death. I have been affected by choices others have made, and obviously have deeply held, strong feelings about this subject.)

P.S. I've also seen a drunk driver pulled out of a car and beaten senseless by onlookers, to the point that he had to go to the hospital. I wasn't involved and never would be. I hope you never experience that.

Indeed. You shouldn't have added "again". How moronic one has to be to realize he's all over the place and not stop driving? Hopeless.

I had the "chance" to be at a party where 3 teens were ran over by a drunk driver ... one of them stuck dead in the windshield, and the dude drove for 30mi like that. Pretty shocking how your brain just does not function when wasted.

It's so damn easy to not drive when drunk you really have to be a grade A negative IQ moronic retard to drive while impaired. Plain and simple.

I added "again" because what is in the past cannot be changed. In the future, he needs to think first, with maybe a little reflection on the past.

Well, I just wanted to add that judgement is the 1st thing to go when you add alcohol, followed by coordination, which the OP shows. On a positive note, I'm one truck closer to making it into the rare truck catergory... I know evrerybodies gonna think I'm an asshole for sayin' that.

I'm not going to rip on you anymore, but think about this:

In your first post you give the impression that because your friend's dad is a police sargent, the fact you were drunk was covered up. You even state you knew you were drunk and it was the cause of the accident. You even state time, date, and give an arial photo showing the exact location of the accident. Then you post it on the 'net for everyone in the world to see, even the sagent's superiors. Nice.:icon_thumby:
