I'm not going to rip on you anymore, but think about this:

In your first post you give the impression that because your friend's dad is a police sargent, the fact you were drunk was covered up. You even state you knew you were drunk and it was the cause of the accident. You even state time, date, and give an arial photo showing the exact location of the accident. Then you post it on the 'net for everyone in the world to see, even the sagent's superiors. Nice.

man, you are stupid, I had a cousin killed by a drunk driver, if I could have got my hands on him, he'd be in a casket too. it's really stupid to drive especially when you know you are drunk. This is nothing to be bragging about, you are lucky it's just your truck that got hurt, you could have ruined your and someone elses family's life forever and you would have to live with that. grow up man.

I believe you when you say you have learned from it and are counting your blessings.

I've lost friends to drunks and idiots who know nothing of gun safety, too, but at least I know it doesn't give me the right to judge anyone or call them names on the internet.

There are a lot of hypocrites in this thread who are much too cowardly to ever admit anything they ever did wrong that may have endangered themselves or others. You can probably just ignore them.

Well for what it's worth I sure as hell ain't one of them. I told this guy I had done it early on in my life. I even lost a few good friends to careless use of firearms too & a few that did nothing more then walk down the street who became a victim of a drive by shooting.

I like what whoever that was said about people ripping on you even though they've probably once done this or something else equally as stupid. I'm not going to go so far as to call people hypocrites, I don't know any of these guys personally and it's hard to say whose done what in their lives without that personal connection, but it's fair to say we've all done some stupid shit. It's just that some have done stupider shit than others.

I lost one of best friends when I was a junior in high school because he was driving drunk. He ricocheted his Eclipse off a telephone pole into a brick chimney. Which brought pretty much the whole chimney down on top of him. And he took an innocent life with him; a kid who was just catching a ride home from the party, and he hadn't even been partying or drinking; just needed to get home.

I'm guilty too, though. When I was 18 (seems like more time's passed than that) I was dumb, too. But I got arrested, spent the night in jail, got bailed out, had to go through all the court BS, had to deal with my parents going through their emotional rollercoster (which included them thinking that something was "wrong" with me and sending me to talk to some fucking quack), lost my license for a year and was pretty much grounded for two years.

That's the worst part, I think; that none of these things that normally happen to people who **** up as big as you did happened. And I've got a sneaking suspicion that because of that simple fact, you'll do it again. I hope I'm wrong, and hopefully you've learned your lesson. Although based on the fact that you plastered this all over the "internets" (which, let's face it, was really stupid), I'm not holding my breath.

I'm not bragging in anyway, I feel so shitty right now, ive got my mom balling her eyes out in the other room, my Dad wont even look at me, this just sucks. and when I posted this I was pretty much expecting to get flamed.

And somthing like this is never happening again, Im done drinking its just not worth the risk or bullshit that goes with it.

I feel bad for your nice truck (well was nice)...not so much you. Well we all do stupid things when we're young, at least you're ok. A guy I went to high school with killed his best friend from driving drunk. He was driving, his friend was in the passenger seat. The car hit a tree doing about 70 mph. (in a 35 mph zone no less.) What's done is done, nothing can change that, at least maybe you'll learn something and maye prevent someone else from making the same mistakes you made. Well, I'm off to my girlfriend's apartment to get drunk (but I'm spending the night, like I do every weekend). Later!
