Found a 94, 3.0, auto, with 118,000 miles on Craigslist. Not running. Has been sitting in the yard for about a year. Turns over and will start if gas spuirted directly in. Towed it home. Read about the jumper to cut out everything but the pump. Truck started right up and runs great.

After some messing around found the inertia switch. The heater core has been leaking and coolant had drained down all over the switch. Reset button totally stuck. Was able to break it loose and activate/deactivate the switch several times. Truck runs as it should now.

Not taking any chances I have ordered a new inertia switch and a heater core.

Thanks to the poster of that trick. Looking forward to finding other solutions here on the Ranger Station.

I called the guy on Craigslist that had the truck. Decided to go look at it since it was 3 miles from my house. Yes it's pink and he wanted $700.00 for it. I looked it over, squirted some gas directly into the intake (it started and ran quietly). The quy says....well maybe $600....finally he said $400.00 and I'll tow it to your house (I had never said a word) just listened as the price came down.

So, yes it is pink, it has 118,000 miles on it, it's a one owner. After jumping the fuel pump relay it started and runs/drives great.......and I paid $400.00 for it delivered to my door.

The Inertia Switch is the actual problem. The heater core leaks and it leaked all over the switch. After I took the switch off and cleaned it the truck started in the normal fashion with no jumper. I ordered a heater core from Rock Auto (came today) and an Inertia Switch (didn't want to take a chance on the dirty one).

So that's the story. I got the title changed over at the DMV yesterday. Radio doesn't work and the AC doesn't work. Spare tire hadn't been moved in years. Have now gotten everything loose back there. Will probably need to pick up a junk tire somewhere - I have put air in the one that was there but can't believe it will hold pressure.

I don't know if I'm man enough to drive it or if I'll take it in for a cheapy Maco spray.
My wife has offered the following name options: Pepto, Bazooka (as in gum), Burp, Bismol....suggestions accepted.

good score! I just thought it was a red that had faded to pink.

You should have said... I'm not sure. He would have probably went down further.

Just embrace the pink... put some eyelashes on the headlights and call it a day.

Pink Pansy

Driving a very fairy shade of purpleish Ranger myself that kid and her mother named The Eggplant, Just suck it up and drive it. Show off you security with your man hood by driving a the Pink Pickup. Also another name option. Short sweet and to the point.

Don’t feel bad. The last CR-V I had was faded too. We called it Milano Pink.
