I'm driving a bright orange truck because the paint is OK and being a frugal Yankee( I know, that's redundant), I don't want to spend the money to paint it. I'd try getting it buffed out and put some wax on it to see what happens. In the days before clear coat I saw red and maroon vehicles turn pink after a few years of no wax. Worst case, It'll be shiny pink.

Honestly, if it there's no rust, plasti dip is seriously good stuff. Protects your paint, tough, and easily removed.

And if you ever want to change colors, peel it off and respray it in an afternoon.
