the driver side door lock is sticking really bad when I try to unlock it with the key. It will eventually unlock, but I am afraid it will ultimately seize up. It doesn't have automatic door locks by the way, just manual. Anyone know how I would go about replacing this?

I replaced the door cylinders in my '92 with a kit from AutoZone. I think it was about $30 bucks; comes with 2 new lock cylinders and a pair of new keys.

I bet if you pull the lock cylinder and clean it out with some carb cleaner, and then lube it up with some silicone lubricant, she'll lock and unlock good as new. :icon_thumby:

You may not even have to take the cylinder out of the door to do this. First try getting some graphite lock lubricant from a parts store and squirting it into the lock. Then put your key in and work it to the left and right until it moves freely. That's all I had to do to fix my seized lock.

Works great until even the least amount of water gets in and freezes that powdered crap into a solid brick in your lock. At the worst possible time.

Like during a snowstorm.

Then you spend the next 20 minutes with frozen fingers spraying WD40 into the lock cylinder trying to thaw it and wash the graphite out of it, swearing that you'll never be stupid enough again to put powdered anything into a lock.

Ask me how I know.
