Door Hinges

2000 Ranger four door

My drivers door does not shut unless I slame it. I can pick up on the door and rock it up and down. I have changed door pins before on other cars but these look like you cant tap them out. Do you need to replace the whole hinge?

floppy doors on a Ranger are common (but more common on two door cars)...I didn't have to replace the hinge on mine...just tighten the bolts on the hinges after you get them in the right place...

Check the hinge placment...if you see where the hinge should be but it's slipped then you may be able tighten it...if the hinge is otherwise damaged then replacement may be necessary...usually replacing the pins helps to reduce the movement so if you've done that check the hinge carefully...maybe need to remove the front fender to do this properly...I had to remove both fenders to get my doors to sit properly...makes it easier to adjust the hinges that way...

I have not changed the pins yet. This was really my question. Can the pins be replaced. By looking at them they do not look like they come out. I did not want to go in there beating them with a hammer if they can not be punched out.

I looked at the hinges and I dont see any signs that they have slipped down. I am thinking the pins need to be replaced. If that is possible.
