Occasionally while driving i'll hear a ding sound, which sounds like a door ajar one. But i have the interior light fuse pulled. Would it still ding with that out?
Im just curious as to what this is. thanks

Maybe the dings driving the truck?? lol
Do you have any warning lights on the dash (like the seat belt light that flashes). Just start up the truck and sit in it with the windows down an listen if you hear it then. Is it only when you are on the road??

Does the airbag light on your instrument cluster prove out when you start the truck?

It seems to happen at random times. It could be right after I start it or while driving down the road. The only light on is my CEL

Im not sure what you mean by this. Do you mean the bulbs out so it doesnt light up when i start it? If so, im not sure. I'll have to check

Is there any thing else in the truck? Any thing thats electrical thats NOT part of the truck? It could be something else. Before I got my ranger I drove our explorer around every where and kept hearing a loud metal POP sound when it was cold, I was afraid it was something wrong with the truck......turned out I had an old ammo can in the back seat and when the truck warmed up inside the cab the air in the can would warm up and expand causing it to make a pop noise then when the truck was off and it cooled back down the metal would suck back in from the air cooling..... just mentioning this cause it could be something inside the truck making the noise too lol :D just thought I would share.

If it is like what I had, I found the door latch to be sloppy. Worked fine but a little body torque would cause the door latch to creek. A small strip of duct tape wrapped around the latch fixed the problem.

Theres nothing else in the truck, I dont even have a stereo or speakers. I just dont know if the dinger for the door is on the same fuse as the interior lights. If so, then I have no idea what this sound is. I've never heard it before until just recently

ive notice 2 swithes on my 88 that are in the door jam, one controls the light, and i have a hunch the other controls the dinger when the keys are in, let me go check it out, if its so, mabey u got a bad switch, cheapest laziest way is to disconect it

well, im wrong, the light/dinger switch are the same, what id do is put the fuse back and see if the dome light comes on when ur driving and it dings, if so, its probly a bad switch

eh, im not that concerned about it. im getting rid of the truck anyway. This is more of a curiosity matter
