door ajar

I know i have read something about the door ajar somewhere on trs. I just don't remember where. I have a 2002 ext-a-cab 4x4,auto-trans,with 4.0. and the other day the ajar light came on and stayed on. dome light hasn't worked in awhile. But where is this switch, my 87 4x4 and my 93 4x2 is the old push button type.I don't see it on the 02. it looks like some kind of switch at the bottom door hing. I'm sure i read about them sticking,but don't remember how to fix it. thanks for any info.

They are part of the door latches. Hose the bajesus out of them with some wd40 and open and close the doors a bunch of times.

10/4 on the crap load of wd40. thanks. are they in the top hing or the bottom. or both hings.

not the hinges, the latch portion of the door. although while you have the WD-40 in your hand it wouldn't hurt to squirt a bit on the hinges as well
