Hello all!

You can see from my sig what I own now, well, one of two vehicles I own. The other isn't worth mentioning. But I am in the market for a new everyday vehicle and I have always been a fan of the Ranger. I like the size and looks and reviews.

I just had a few questions. One, I am looking at a 2001 Ford Ranger Extended Cab 4D 4x4. 94k on it. Says it is loaded. 5 Brand new tires, looks nice in the pictures, says there is no rust. Blue. I think the price is fair as the retail supposedly is $9000, Private Party $7000, the seller is asking well under those. Is there anything I should look for that are typical problems for these?

Is it possible to switch out most of the interior parts with another that is gray or black? I am not a big fan of the tan interior. Not enough to stop me from buying it, but it would be nice to know I can get parts from one that had say the gray interior.

Is there a catch all place to buy accessories for Rangers?

Welcome to TRS. I am pretty sure you can switch interiors from a same year vehicle. As for accessories, there are plenty of places. JC Whitney, StylinTrucks, ebay, etc. And one more thing, buy the truck, you won't be dissapointed. :yahoo:

he's right you will not be disappointed. mine is a 94 4.0 stick manual acc with 212000
on it and i wouldn't trade it for a new one

Great trucks, you could also check lmc truck and local junkjards for interrior stuff.

Chances are he might just trying to get rid of it or it may have a recon title or something just check the title nad take it to a mechanic or look it over yourself really well.

As for the interior you can swap interior peices from 96 to 2010 rangers I believe but being that its a 4 door your going to be looking at a 98+ truck for other parts...

So it is a salvage title. But he showed me what it was before. It was just a tiny fender bender that broke the bumper, grill (he replaced it with a grill from a different year not the honey comb, it looks kind of cool), headlight, and external tranny cooler. I guess the story is it wasn't the owners fault for the accident, so the other persons insurance had to cover the repair, and they didnt want call it a total but the owner demanded it so they had to or something.

There is a TINY, TINY dent on the lower side of one of the fenders towards the passenger door. You can barely see it, someone touched it up well. Hardly even a spot of rust anywhere, even on the steps. Underneath looks like it was either recently undercoated again or it was just take carne of very well. Hardly a scratch anywhere on the entire body. Engine is mint, looks like MAYBE a slight power steering leak, something looked wet or that it had been wet. maybe something spilled. Fog lights don't work. I am guessing he just didn't replace the bumper right.

I hopefully will be returning tomorrow with a check and coming back in a truck. Its blue, its beautiful. He is a registered business, so has to follow all state laws, including lemon laws I think, and I am pretty sure he is given a 30-day warranty or something cause I didn't get to test the 4WD.
